01 About
Architecture, leadership,
and the work between.
I'm Doug — a technical director, principal enterprise architect, and people leader with a strong opinion about where the interesting work lives. The interesting problems aren't the ones that fit neatly inside the architecture diagram. They're the ones that span systems you don't own, teams that need structure as much as they need direction, and customer environments where the politics are at least as load-bearing as the API contracts.
My work tends to land in three modes. As an architect, I find the shape of the solution — across AEM, the broader Adobe martech stack, and lately the generative AI surface — and pressure-test it before anyone bets a budget on it. As a leader, I build and run the teams that ship that work, with particular focus on the enablement, methodology, and career-growth scaffolding that keeps senior engineers learning. And as an enterprise navigator, I read the room — technical, political, executive — and translate between layers that don't always speak the same language.
Most recently I was Technical Director on Adobe's Document, Creative Cloud, Firefly & GenAI Professional Services org, holding technical sign-off across F500 engagements and helping shape product direction with internal teams. Before that, as Director and Principal Enterprise Architect, I supported programs retaining $500M+ in annual revenue, built two customer-facing teams from scratch, and authored the AEM enablement curriculum that became Adobe's internal standard.
Today I'm hands-on at 94 Alpacas, an early-stage venture building multi-agent tooling for solopreneurs — staying close to the diffusion APIs, agentic orchestration patterns, and AI-assisted dev stack I'd otherwise be designing for at scale. I'm looking for a Director-level role where deep architecture, team development, and outcomes-through-complex-customer-environments all matter in equal measure. If that sounds like a conversation worth having, my inbox is open.
